We are very excited to pair with our friends at Mount Vernon for Pints and the Past at PCBC. They have generously donated a few of George Washington’s Rye Whiskey Barrels for us to age our Double Porter. The beer had a good long rest and is ready to be shared!
Tickets are $25pp and include four 6 oz. tastings and a full pour of the Double Porter Aged in George Washington Rye Whiskey Barrels. Feel free to show up early and stay late to enjoy the tasting room. As part of the event, you will also receive a private informational session led by Mount Vernon scholars Joe Stoltz, PhD (Digital Historian) and Steve Bashore (Director of Historic Trades) who will be discussing the history of alcohol in America during the 18th century as well as the distilling processes used at Mount Vernon from the 1790’s through present day. Following the presentation, you will be taken on a private guided tour of Port City with one of our expert staff members.
Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes before your tour time. When entering the Port City Tasting Room, have your ticket and ID in hand. Check in for the event at either bar with any Beer Guide. They will get you started on your flight and direct you upstairs for the beginning of the tour.
Mount Vernon will also have their “Washington Presidential Popup Library” set up in the tasting room to provide all our patrons with the chance to learn more about Mount Vernon and the many historical collections and resources contained in the Mount Vernon Library.
