Colossal One & Hazy ipa Release

On Friday February 4th and Saturday February 5th Port City celebrates 11 years of brewing. For our 11th anniversary beer, we are bringing back one of our favorites from the Colossal series; Colossal One.

Diverging from most imperial stouts due to the use of Belgian yeast Colossal One pours inky black with dark beige foam. The aroma is complex and balanced with notes of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and clove. Full bodied and satisfying in every way, this beer finishes with a light bitterness and smooth flavors of roasted malt, semisweet chocolate, and a hint of dark fruit spice.

For the past 10 years we’ve brewed a new, big, bold style to celebrate our anniversary that we call Colossal. While brainstorming what we wanted to brew for our 11th anniversary we could not help but reflect on the Colossal series as a whole, each release having a special place in our history. Our musings lead to a desire to brew our old favorites, with the added bonus of 10 more years of brewing experience under our belt! We are excited to release our Colossal One to celebrate our 11th anniversary!

In addition to the return of the Colossal One, we are welcoming back our Hazy ipa. Hazy ipa was so well received last year that we have promoted it to our YEAR ROUND LINEUP, and what better time for its return than our anniversary.

Brewed to highlight hop aroma and flavor, Hazy ipa has intense notes of tropical fruit and bright citrus on the nose. Super juicy flavors of mango, peach, and tangerine accompany a crisp malt character. This Hazy IPA is soft on the bitterness, finishing clean and smooth all the way around!

To help celebrate, we’ll have four food trucks. On Friday, we’ll have Borinquen Lunch Box and Bun’d up on site, and on Saturday we’ll have KAMand46 and Rocklands Barbeque.
