Although all of our beers are distinctive and different from one another, they share some common traits. All are made from the highest quality ingredients available and are a celebration of their raw materials. All are delicious, easy to drink, and well-balanced and enhance a meal or drink well on their own. All possess a complexity of flavor that hold the drinker’s interest and invite another sip.
All Port City beers are unfiltered, as we believe that unfiltered beer retains more of its essential character and has a greater degree of complexity than filtered beer. We employ several techniques to minimize the particulate matter in our packaged product, however, there is always a chance that small amounts of yeast and other sediment may be present. This sediment is perfectly normal, not harmful, and should not affect the taste of the beer. In order to minimize the potential for sediment, we recommend enjoying Port City bottled beer in a glass, using a “still pour,” and consuming within 120 days of the package date.
The exception to this rule is our award-winning Optimal Wit. Traditionally, Belgian witbiers are served with a “roused pour” – simply pour 2/3 of the beer into your glass, swirl the remaining beer in the bottle to distribute the yeast, and pour generously into the glass to mix. Enjoy!

To celebrate eight years of brewing, we created a delicious German-style doppelbock. COLOSSAL 8 is a malt-forward, russet-colored lager with crimson highlights. At 8% ABV, COLOSSAL 8 is slightly warming with a touch of sweetness, evoking baking bread and plums.
In 2019, Port City will release a new lager approximately every two months. The series draws upon lager brewing traditions from Germany and beyond to create clean yet complex beers with a wide range of flavors.
